PatientswithHIVinfectionoftenhavegeneralizedlymphadenopathyand/orotherlymphoidproliferationandareatsigni?cantly increasedriskforlymphoma.Thisstudyretrospectivelyevaluatedthediagnosticvalueofconcurrentnasopharyngeallesionand lymphadenopathy on positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) with ?uorine-18 ?uorodeoxyglucose (FDGPET-CT)imaging.TheeligiblecaseswerefrompatientswithHIVinfectionandlymphadenopathyandreferredforFDG PET-CTtoevaluatelymphomaorothermalignanciespriortopathologicalinvestigation.FDGPET-CTimagesandinterpretation reportswerecorrelatedwithclinicalinformationandpathologicaldiagnoses.Among22eligiblepatients,FDGavidnasopha- ryngeallesionswereincidentallynotedin7onPET-CTimaging,andallhadlymphomasdiagnosedwithsubsequentbiopsies (6di?uselargeB-celllymphomasand1Hodgkin’slymphoma).Intheremaining15patientswithadenopathybutnovisible nasopharyngeallesionoruptakeonPET-CTimaging,9hadbiopsiesandlymphomaswerediagnosedin4.ThepatientswithFDG avidretroperitonealorintra-abdominallymphadenopathyhadagreaterpossibilityoflymphoma,comparedtothosewithadeno- pathylocalizedonlyintheuppertorso.CoexistentFDGavidnasopharyngeallesionandgeneralizedlymphadenoapthyonPET-CT imagingareindicativeofamalignantlymphomaratherthanbenignlymphproliferativediseaseornasophar
