Introduction. Untilrecently,tosolvetheMonge-Ampère equation,itwasneces- sary toconsider that equation asaboundary value problem—the Dirichlet problem. In[2],wewereabletosolvetheMonge-Ampère equation, without considering itasa boundary value problem, in Lp-Sobolev and Lipschitz spaces on domains with mini- mallysmoothboundaries.There,wehadtoextendthedatafromtheboundeddomain tothewholespace,constructafundamental solutionandconvolvewiththenthroot of the data, before solving and estimating. Because of the function spaces that we weredealingwith,wecouldnotextendthedatabyzerooutsidetheboundeddomain. Here,wegivecontinuousandLpsolutionsofthecomplexMonge-Ampèreequationon arbitraryboundeddomainsinCn.Thesolutionswhichweobtainhere,showthatthe complex Monge-Ampère equation has viscosity solutions and generalized solutions inthesenseofAleksandrov [3,page6],onallbounded domains inCn.
