Typically,traditional inventorymodelsoperateundertheassumption ofperfectquality.
Inthispaperwemodifyaninventorymodelwith?nite-rangestochasticleadtimetoallow
forarandomnumberofdefectiveunitsinalot.However,thereisanextracostforhold-
ingthedefectiveitemsinthelotfortheperiodbeforeitisreturnedtothesupplier.This
paperalsoconsiderstheoptionofinvestmenttoimprovequality.Closed-form relation-
shipsareobtainedforaquality-adjusted mode
