However, the difficulty of reliablyexcludingTBdiseasehasseverelylimitedTBscreeningandIPTuptakeinresource-limitedsettings.Weconductedan individualparticipantdatameta-analysisofprimarystudies,aimingtoidentifyasensitiveTBscreeningrule. MethodsandFindings:Weidentified12studiesthathadsystematicallycollectedsputumspecimensregardlessofsignsor symptoms,atleastonemycobacterialculture,clinicalsymptoms,andHIVandTBdiseasestatus.Bivariaterandom-effects meta-analysis and the hierarchical summary relative operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the screening performanceofallcombinationsofvariablesofinterest.TBdiseasewasdiagnosedin
