Methods:APTT,prothrombintime(PT),fibrinogen,fastingplasmaglucose(FPG)andglycosylatedhemoglobinA1c(HbA1c) levelsweremeasuredin1,300patients.PatientsweredividedintothreegroupsaccordingtotheirHbA1candFPGlevels. Results: When participants were grouped according to their HbA1c levels, we found significantly shorter APTT values (26.965.6s)andincreased fibrinogen levels(3.1, 1.9–6.3g/L)in thediabetesgroupwhen comparedwiththeothertwo groups. When participants were grouped according to their FPG levels, we found significantly shorter APTT values (26.966.2s)andincreasedfibrinogenlevels(3.1,1.8–6.2g/L)inthediabetesgroupwhencomparedwiththeeuglycemic group. Conclusions:ShorterAPTTandincreasedfibrinogenlevelsmightbeusefulhemostaticmarkersinpatientswithdiabetes andinpatientsathighriskfordiabetes.
