Methods:Across-sectionalsurveywasperformedinapopulationof8940,aged20to74y.8127participantsresponded (90.9%).Height,weight,fatmass(FM),waistcircumference(WC)andhipcircumferenceweremeasured.Obesitydefinition: bodymassindex(BMI)$28kg/m2(overallobesity);WC$85cmformenor$80cmforwomen(abdominalobesityI )and waisthipratio(WHR)$0.90formenor$0.85forwomen(abdominalobesity%).Thedataondietarycalciumandcalcium supplements were collected using food-frequency questionnaire and self-report questionnaire. Multivariate linear and multivariable logistic regressions were used to examine the associations between dietary calcium intake or calcium supplementsandbodycompositionandobesity. Principal Findings: The average dietary calcium intake of all subjects was 430mg/d. After adjusting for potential confounding factors, among women only, negative associations were observed between habitual dietary calcium intake andfourmeasuresofbodycomposition(b,20.086,P,0.001forBMI;b,20.072,P,0.001forWC;b,20.044,P,0.05for WHR;andb,20.058,P,0.01forFM,respectively)andbothmeasuresofabdominalobesity(OddsRatio[OR]=0.86,95% ConfidenceInterval[CI],0.80–0.93;P,0.001,forabdominalobesityI;OR=0.92,95%CI,0.86–0.99;P=0.026,forabdominal obesityII).Theseassociationswerenotobservedamongmen(P.0.05).Similarly,amongbothmenandwomen,wedidnot observe significant associations bet
