Methods:Collegestudentsrespondedtoanemailinvitingthemtoparticipateinashortdrinkingsurvey.Those meetingcriteriaforriskydrinking(andagreeingtoparticipateinafollow-up)wererandomizedtoanintervention conditionwheretheywereofferedtoparticipateinaweb-basedpersonalizedfeedbackinterventionortoacontrol condition(interventionnotoffered).Participantswerefollowed-upatsixweeks. Results:Atotalof425participantswererandomizedtoconditionand68%(n=290)completedthesix-week follow-up.Nosignificantdifferenceindrinkingbetweenconditionswasobserved. Conclusions:Web-basedpersonalizedfeedbackinterventionsthatareofferedtostudentsonavoluntarybasismay nothaveameasurableimpactonproblemdrinking.
