The prevalence of latent tuberculosisinfection(LTBI)inthispopulationisunclear,particularlyinthosereceivingperitonealdialysis(PD).Thisstudy investigatedtheprevalenceofLTBIinpatientsreceivingeitherhemodialysis(HD)orPDtodeterminepredictorsofLTBIand indeterminateresultsofinterferon-gammareleaseassay. Methods:Patientsreceivinglong-term($3months)HDorPDfromMarch2011toFebruary2012intwomedicalcenters wereprospectivelyenrolled.QuantiFERON-Goldintube(QFT)testwasusedtodeterminethestatusofLTBIafterexcluding activetuberculosis.TheLTBIprevalencewasdeterminedinpatientsreceivingdifferentdialysismodestoobtainpredictors ofLTBIandQFT-indeterminateresults. Results: Of 427patients enrolled(124PD and303HD), 91(21.3%)wereQFT-positive, 316(74.0%)QFT-negative, and20 (4.7%)QFT-indeterminate.TheprevalenceofLTBIwassimilarinthePDandHDgroups.IndependentpredictorsofLTBIwere oldage(OR:1.034[1.013–1.056]peryearincrement),TBhistory(OR:6.467[1.985–21.066]),andcurrentsmoker(OR:2.675 [1.061–6.747]).FactorsassociatedwithindeterminateQFTresultswereHD(OR:10.535[1.336–83.093]),dialysisduration(OR: 1.113 [1.015–1.221] per year increment), anemia (OR: 8.760 [1.0
