Methods:TwogroupsoffemaleBALB/cnudemicewereinoculatedwithLS174Thumancolonictumorcellsi.p. Onegroupreceived5MBq 18F-FDG,andtheotherreceivedintravenousinjectionsofthebsmAb,followed16h laterwith5MBqof 68Ga-labeledpeptide.OnehouraftertheradiolabeledpeptideorFDGwasgiven,micro-PET/ computedtomographyimageswereacquired.Thereafter,theuptakeofthe 68Gaor 18Findissectedtissuewas determined. Results:Within1h,highuptakeofthe 68Ga-labeledpeptideinthetumorlesions(23.4±7.2%ID/g)andlow backgroundactivitylevelswereobserved(e.g.,tumor-to-intestineratio,58±22).Thisresultedinaclear visualizationofallintra-abdominaltumorlesions≥10μLandevensometumorsassmallas5μL(2mmdiameter). 18F-FDGefficientlylocalizedinthetumors(8.7±3.1%ID/g)butalsoshowedphysiologicaluptakeinvarious normaltissues(e.g.,tumor-to-intestineratio,3.9±1.1).
