Presentationofthehypothesis:SyringeMicroVibratorisanewdesignbeingintroducedforthefirsttimeinthe fieldofDentistry.Thisdeviceisapromisingbreakthroughinpainandanxietymanagementandmaydeliver solutionforcliniciansplaguedwithpatientpainphobia.Ithasanoff-setrotatingmicrovibrationcreatorwithultra highfrequencyandultralowaltitudethatcanbeeasilyplacedonanystandarddentalsyringeandsome disposablesyringes.ThisdevicewasregisteredasaninventionindentistryandreceivedIranNationalPatent numberof63765. Testingthehypothesis:Bycreatingmicrovibration,thisdevicewouldbeeffectiveinreducingthepainand anxietyconfrontedwithmosttypesofintraoralinjectionsaspalatal,mandibularblock,intraligamentalandlocal infiltration.Fromtheaspectofthepatientpainmanagement,thisdevicecontributesbothphysiologically(based onGateControlTheoryofpain)andpsychologically(basedonthedevicefunctionaswillbeexplainedbydentist tothepatientasamodernpainreducingtechnology).Fromtheaspectofclinician,SMVmotorprovidesvibrations withultrahighfrequencytoalleviatepain,butsinceithasultralowvibrationaltitude,ithasnoadverseeffecton thecliniciandexterityandaccuracyduringinjectionanditdoesnotinterferewithpinpointlocalizationof injectionsite. Implicationsofthehypothesis:Uponmountingonaconventionaldentalanesthesiainjectionsyringe,SMVis switchedonandtheclinicianthenusesnormalinjectiontechniquetoadministertheanesthetic.Thisdeviceisnot onlyausefulaccessorydeviceforordinarypatients,butalsomoreusefulforpediat
