Therefore we are extremely grateful to the Editors of Critical Care for providingaforumforalloftheextendedabstractsofallinvitedspeakers, coveringtheentirefieldofadultemergencyandcriticalcaremedicine.We dohope and weare convinced that this supplementary issue will bea source of inspiration and knowledge, hopefully becoming a work of referenceforintensivists,neurologists,neurointensivists,cardiologistsand allemergencyphysiciansalike.Itistheaimoftheorganiserstoestablisha seriesofsuchsymposiawithinthenextyearsinordertokeepupwithall thedevelopmentsinthisfieldandtomaintainthehighestpossiblelevelof knowledge oftargeted temperature management inthe community of emergencyandintensivecarephysicians.
