The generation of frictional heating and the transient distributing of temperature of the brakew ere analyzed by the direct ther mom echanical coupling field finite elem entm ethod. The results show that the highest tem perature and the tmi e reach ing the h ighest temperature in the disc s and the pad s contact surface are d ifferent, the tem perature of the pad s contact surface alm ost goes up from inner radius to outer rad ius, the h igher tem perature area of the d isc s contact surface gets close to the m iddle radius and the low er temperature area gets close to the inner or outer radius. Comparew ith the indirect thermom e chanical coupling field finite elem entm ethod, the direct therm om echan ical coupling field finite elementm ethod considers the transient interactive affection of therm al field and stressstrain field of disc brake, and the results of the therm al field ism ore reasonab le.
