Begin the repair Control panel replacement can be performed with the system powered on and concurrently with system operations. To do this you need to access the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI). Choose one of the following options: For concurrent repair, continue with the next step. For nonconcurrent repair (system powered off), go to step?Power off and remove cords. Access the ASMI The Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) is the interface to the service processor that is required to perform general and administrator-level service tasks, such as reading service processor error logs, reading vital product data, setting up the service processor, and controlling the system power. The ASMI may also be referred to as the service processor menus. To access the ASMI, refer to?Accessing the Advanced System Management Interface. When you have accessed the ASMI, continue with the next step. Prepare the Control Panel for concurrent replacement In the navigation area of the ASMI, expand?Conurrent Maintenance?then selectControl panel. At the Preparing the control panel window, select?Removeand click?Continue. Select the control panels location and click?Save Settings. The message?Opeation completed successfully?is displayed. Did the operation complete successfully? Yes No Continue with the next step for a concurrent repair. Go to step?6?for a non-concurrent repair. Use this procedure to service the Control Panel.
