American academy of pediatrics: guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of bronchitis
Capillary bronchitis is the most common lower respiratory infection in infants. The American academy of pediatrics (AAP) has combined the American family physicians, the American thoracic society, the American college of chest physicians, and the European society of respiratory diseases such as jointly developed the capillary bronchitis and guide, to 1 ~ 2 years old infant capillary bronchitis, diagnosis, treatment and preventive measures was carried out based on evidence-based medicine classification evaluation and recommendation.
Bronchiolitis caused by a virus, with a small airway epithelium acute inflammation, edema and necrosis, mucus secretion increase as well as the characteristics of bronchospasm, main clinical manifestations include typical rhinitis, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough, lung wet then, three concave and (or) the alar flap. The most common pathogen is respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which is dominated by December to march of the year. Ninety percent of infants are infected with RSV within two years of age, about 40 percent of which develop into lower respiratory infections. Since RSV infection has no long-term or permanent immunity, repeated infections are common. Other viruses such as human pneumovirus (hMPV), influenza virus, adenovirus and para-influenza virus also cause bronchitis.
The guidelines are available for pediatricians, family physicians, emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants involved in child care. The guidelines do not apply to children with HIV, organs or bone marrow transplants and children with congenital immunodeficiency. In addition to the prevention part, other parts of the guide is not adapted to the combination of respiratory system diseases such as chronic neonatal pulmonary disease (CLD, also known as bronchial pulmonary dysplasia) of children and children with severe congenital heart disease.
