The operator must handle all in-house, local, and long-distance phone call. Many guests, especially business travelers, rely in the Hotel Operator for wake-up calls, and for important messages from outside callers. Operators must also be ready at all times to deal with urgent matters on behalf of the hotel or the guests. Ⅱ Post Introduction An important function of the Hotel Operator is message-taking.if a person calls for a guest, but the guest is not in his/her room, then it is essential for the operator to be diligent in recording the caller’s message for the hotel guest. It is usually best for the operator to hold the phone with his/her left hand so that he/she may write while taking the message, so as not to forget any part of the message. Important information to note will include the caller’s name, time of call, phone number, and message itself.
