The Peop les Hosp i tal of Lvliang ity, Lvliang 033000, Shanxi, hina ABSTRACT Objective:To apply arthroscope to t he treatme t of tra sverse fracture of patella with per cuta eous hollow screw combi ed with te sio ba d, a d to explore its therapeutic effects. Methods: Tw elve patie ts with fresh tra sverse fracture of patella were review ed i the study. The hemarthrosis, blood clot, frac ture fragme ts a d soft tissues betw ee them were clearedw ith arthroscopy .With the help of Carm Xray, the fracture was reduced w ith ma ipulatio method. After the articular facet reached a atomical reductio , two Kirsch ers were i serted percuta eously from proximal e d to distal e d of fracture to fix the fragme ts, Two hollow screw were put alo g the approach of Kirsch ers, a d te sio ba d fixatio w as performed w ith the shape of ∀ 8# . Results:All the pat ie ts were followed up averagely 124 mo ths. The period of fracture heali g ra ged from 6 to 10 w eeks, mea ly 76 weeks. Accordi g to Lysholms criterio , 10 patie ts reached excelle t results, 1 good a d 1 fair .T he excelle ta dgood rate w as 9167% . Conclusion: This treatme t met hod has adva tages as follows: mi i wou d, good reductio of articular facet, stro g fixat io , early exercises, shorter le gth of stay, rapid recovery of fu ctio a d few complicatio s, which provided a ew method to treat fresh t ra sverse fracture
