As Du u Sizhen w as buried in AD 698 accordin to his e ita h, it g g p p can be inf erred that the mirror under discussion w as taken to Ja an b the seventh Ja anese dele ation to p y p g Tang China that entered the T ang Empire in 702 and returned to Japan in 704. Soon the mirror passed into the hand of rince Osakabe for he w as remier of Japan. According to literal records, rince Osak abe died in M ay 705, w hich provides an important clue for clarifying the date and tombow ner of the Takamatsuzuka Tumulus. Up to now, the author has held the above view firmly and w ithout any change.
