The students didn’t know how to work out the problem. * 宾语从句是主从复合句的一种。主从 复合句是由一个主句和一个或一个以上 的从句构成的。主句是复合句的主体, 从句仅仅是主句的一个成分,它从属于 主句,不能独立。从句在全句中充当什 么成分,就叫什么从句。宾语从句当中 的从句在全句中作宾语。 由从属连词that引导的宾语从句 由连接代词 Who,whom,whose,which, what 和连接副词 where,how,why,when 引导的宾语从句 由从属连词 whether, if 引导的宾语从句 一、宾语从句的引导词 1.由 that 引导的宾语从句(从句为陈述句) 由 that 引导的宾语从句常作动词 say, think, wish, hope, see, believe, agree, expect, hear, feel 等的宾语。连词 that 只起连接作用,在从句中不作句子成分,也无词义,在口语中常可省略。如: He told me (that) he would go to college the next year. 他告诉我他下一年上大学。 I hear (that) _______________________. (一小时后他会回来) He said (that) ______________________. (他非常想念我们) The teacher told us (that) (地球围着太阳转) ___________________________. he will be back in an hour he missed us very much the earth moves around the sun 注意1:在某些句型中,特别是带复合宾语的句中,that 引导的从句常常移到后面去,前面用一个 it 作形式上的宾语。(但是,有时 it 也可以省略) We all thought it a pity that she couldn’t come . 注意2:that 引导的宾语从句作 think, believe, suppose, expect, imagine等动词的宾语且主语为第一人称时时,从句的否定词要转移到主句中来。如: I don’t think (that) he will come. 我认为他不会来。 动词为非一般现在时或主语不是第一人称时,否定不转移。 I thought that he wouldn’t come back soon.? 我原以为他不会回来得这么快。 He thinks that he isn’t fit for the job.? 他认为他不适合这件工作。 注意3:如果宾语从句中有某个含有否定意义的词, 其反义疑问句要用肯定形式.
