It is by the reaction of boric acid w ith alkali compound s that boron is induced on to the mo lecu le of lubricating oil additives. Therefore, boric acid has gradually becom e one of the mo st importan t raw m aterials of lub ricating o il additives. The p resen t app lication situation of boric acid in the area of lub ricating o il additive s wa s in troduced, such a s bo racic detergen ts, disp ersants, po le ten sion an tiwear agen t and an tiru st agent, etc. .
