China is a great agricultural country, and also one of the countries with the richest crop straw（秸秆） resources. As the environmental protection and the effective utilization （利用）of renewable （可再生的）resources are generally accepted, the utilization of crop straw resources has attracted more and more attention of all countries in the world. Traditionally, the methods of treating crop straw in China are mainly using straw instead of coal， straw returning straw feed（秸秆饲料） and incineration （焚化）of straw in farm land. With the change from traditional agriculture into modern agriculture and the development of economy and society, rural energy and feed structure have greatly changed, which means traditional utilization ways of straw have changed historically . Crop straw is a clean renewable resource, so its development and utilization has gained more and more attention recently. China is a country with poor oil ,but if straw can be transformed effectively to bio-ethanol（生物乙醇） for actively developing new resources, it not only can alleviate（缓解） energy crisis, food crisis and environmental pollution those we face currently, but also is the basic guarantee for sustainable development strategy（可持续发展战略） proposed（提议） in China, which has an important significance and broad development prospect（广阔的发展前景） . The potential productivity （生产潜力）of wheat straw in China is investigated（研究） in this study according to the estimation（估算） method of crop potential productivity, and then the potential productivity of wheat straw fiber（纤维） is also estimated, which provides evidence for the further potential analysis of bio-ethanol (进一步分析潜在的生物乙醇）.
