国际移民的定义与类别
———兼论中国移民问题

The Def inition and Types of International Migrants
with a Special Reference to the Chinese Migrants

Abstract : This article observes the topic of international migration with a special focus on its
definition and types. A detailed definition of international migrants is given , together with an
account on the current international migration trend . The author classifies the international migrants
into six basic group s , emphasizing that different types of migrants might be interchanged . In the
meantime , the author places the studies of overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese in the context of
international migration , and corrects some obvious misconceptions on the topic caused by lacking the
basic understanding of the necessary knowledge .
