Abstract: at present, there are many problems and difficulties in middle school English teaching, which restricts the development of quality education. In order to adapt to the needs of the times, English Teaching in secondary schools must change the English classroom teaching mode, strengthen the training of teachers, speed up the reform of the college entrance examination, deepen the reform of teaching materials, popularize modern educational technology and improve teaching conditions.

In the 1996 meeting of the National Foreign Language Teaching Forum, Vice Premier Li Lanqing pointed out in his speech: for Chinas economic and social development in order to communicate better, absorb all the achievements of world civilization, expand international exchanges and cooperation, learning and mastering English as foreign language for Chinese will be particularly important.
