Abstract Karl Raimund Popper ( 1902-1994), founder of critical rationalism, born in a Jewish family in Vienna, was one of the most influential and the most controversial th philosopher of science in the 20 century. His study on philosophy involved in almost every major field of human knowledge, but rather to explore the theme of philosophy, which is about the phenomenon of human knowledge issue, the greatest miracle we create in the universe, in particular, the scientific truth theory. Truth is a very important theory issue in the epistemology of philosophy. What is truth? What is the nature of truth? In the history of western epistemology, philosophers have been long and heatedly debating about truth and its essence. There are four kinds of truth theories in the western philosophy: the correspondence theory of truth, the coherence theory of truth, the pragmatism theory of truth, the redundancy theory of truth. Dispute and the opposition among them constitute the logic outline of truth theories in the western philosophy. Popper lived in the atmosphere of free and open society with various social agitations. The rapid development of science, scientific theories and the crisis logical positivism encountered, contributed to Poppers truth theory. Popper is a critical rationalist, and he is deeply affected by Tarskis truth theory. Popper introduced the conceptions of verisimilitude and fidelity, and so on, thus forming a unique scientific truth verisimilitude . The property of closure to the truth, which is had by science theory, is named as verisimilitude by Popper. The degree of closing to the truth is named as fidelity.
