Abstract The description of master-servant relationship in Goethes ‘Faust is different from that of the previous literature works. In this great work, the writer describes three couples of master and servant : the God and Mephisto, the counter of gambling ties them together; the God and Faust, their relationship is based on their same faith in God; Faust and Mephisto , they become master and servant because of the contract. The master-servant relationship is the result of hierarchical society presenting different characteristics in the symbiotic society, with good and evil spirit and human living together. The God is the creator of the universe and dominates the world, the lord of all whom human and evil must submit to. The devils rebelled against God and fell to hell, with the rebellious spirit then reached a mutual agreement with God within some restrictions. Faust is the creature of God, but he has been endowed with subjective initiative. While piously worshipping the God, he explored his own value. There is a relatively balanced binding relationship with conflicts between the rebellious Mephisto and Faust, the masterpiece of God. The tripartite of human, God and demon was connected by a contract or a stake. The master and the servant agreed to clear about the responsibility.
