Teaching objectives:
to assess student’s use of possessive adjectives and pronouns
to assess appropriate choice of vocabulary to complete a conversation describing feelings of surprise, likes, amazement and fear
Teaching Procedures
Step1. Presentation
1.T: What is the biggest animals on land?
S: Elephant
T: Do you believe elephants walk on tiptoe? I can’t believe. They are too heavy.
Ask Ss to say : I can’t believe…. at the same time .ask Ss to review “what and how”感叹句
2.Ask Ss to make sentences: What a big elephant! How big the elephant is!
What a tall giraffe ! How tall the giraffe is!
What a long neck! How long the neck is!
3.Review “with and without”
(课件)Which animal can sleep with their eyes open?
Ss: Fish
T: Can fish live without water?
Ss: No
T: Yes. Fish cannot live without water
T: Look at the water. How clean the water in! what clean water!
Step2.
Show Ss some pictures and ask them to make sounds like the animals
T: Which animal is the most dangerous animal? Can you make sounds like them? (课件)
What terrible noise it is ! How terrible the noise is!
Step3
1.How did Millie and Amy feel when they heard the noise!
Encourage Ss to say : amazing frightened surprised
2.Show Ss some pictures and ask : Which picture do you think is interesting?
Ss: I think______ is interesting.
I find _______ is funny.
Step4
1.Show picture about some stars and ask:
Who are you crazy about?
Who are you fond of?
Who do you like/love?
Can you sing/run/play basketball/travel around________ as he/ she can?
2.Show another several pictures and say: What are you frightened at/by? Are you afraid of them?
Step5.
1.Now let’s look at conversation between Mr Wu and his Ss. Please do PartB
