Most of the machine parts and mould blank after annealing, can eliminate stress and composition of casting, forging and welding pieces of tissue inhomogeneity; can improve and adjust the mechanical properties of steel, make organization for the next procedure. For low performance, less important parts, and some common castings, weldments, annealing can be used as final heat treatment. Annealing of steel is the process of heating steel to suitable temperature, holding it for a certain period of time, and then cooling it slowly to obtain a heat treatment process close to the equilibrium structure. The purpose of annealing is to achieve a uniform chemical composition, improve mechanical properties and process performance, eliminate or reduce internal stress, and prepare the final heat treatment for the parts. One is annealing at the critical temperature (Ac3 or Ac1), also known as transformation recrystallization annealing.
