The first was one of possession of arms, namely, a stun gun, without a licence. The second was one *B Ryan of remaining in Hong Kong, without the authority of the Director of Immigration, after having landed unlawfully in Hong Kong. On the first charge, #A Hoosen the judge took a starting point of 4 years, and reduced that by one-third because of the guilty plea to 32 months. On the second charge, the sentence was 15 months’ imprisonment. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively. The stun gun was capable of generating a high pulsating voltage, some 35,000 volts, when operated in the air. If applied to the equivalent of the human body, the device produced an electrical output of some 12,000 volts
