Interlanguage fossilization is an inevitable phenomenon during the course of English learning. This paper will introduce the theory of interlanguage, the development fossilization phenomenon and its influences, by doing theoretical research and questionnaire. This research mainly revolves around three questions: (1)What is the interlanguage fossilization? (2) What are the specific factors that cause the interlanguage fossilization of second language learners? (3)What ways can second language learners take to overcome interlanguage fossilization in the process of second language learning?
