APPLICATION OF THE DUST-CONTROL METHOD WITH AIR CURTAIN
IN THE FUME EXHAUST SYSTEM OF THE EAF ROOF -HOOD

Abstract :The gas generated from the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)feeding and tapping process is normally collected by the roof
hood ，but the effect is not satisfactory ． In order to increasing the gas collection efficiency and saving the energy consumption of
the exhaust fan ，a more economic dust-control method with air curtain is putted forward ，with which an invisible and
transparent curtain can be formed under the roof hood to prevent the upward gas from interfering by the cross flow in the plant ，
which will spread outside of the roof hood ． It is analysed the application prospect of the new dust-control method with air curtain
through a practical proj ect ．
