[Abstract] under the increasingly fierce commercial competition, the service problem has become the key to the success of supermarket management. Through market research, combined with the service gap model, the paper analyzes the main problems and the root causes of supermarket service. From improving customer satisfaction, guiding customers to establish reasonable expectations, establishing service standards and reasonable positioning of supermarkets, the paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve supermarket service.

First, the supermarket service problems
Business competition is becoming increasingly fierce, the supermarket has been recognized for and retain customers in the long-term importance, therefore also take some measures to improve the service to attract customers, but in real life, the supermarket service there are still some problems which affect customer shopping.
(1) the goods offered by supermarkets are difficult to meet customer requirements
With the development of society and the improvement of living standard, people are demanding more and more goods. At present, many supermarkets provide goods that are difficult to meet customer demand, so that customers are not satisfied. The main manifestations are:
1, the quality of goods is difficult to guarantee.
