The performance specification of single antenna includes pattern, gain, input impedance, polarization, etc. However, since the mutual coupling will affect the performance of the whole system, mutual coupling effect has to be taken into account in the design of multiple-antenna system (including array antenna). This course will discuss the design of multiple-antenna system (including array antenna) and present the concept and means of multiple-antenna design, firstly. Then the effect of mutual coupling in multiple-antenna system (including array antenna) on the whole system and the analysis method for mutual coupling will be explained. The applications of multiple-antenna system in the MIMO communication system will be presented. This course will concretely discuss the method to reduce the
