The water depth varies between 1,200m and 1,600m. The development consists of several small oil and gas accumulations discovered by the wells SES-142, SES-143, SES-147, SES-149 and SES-154. This gives recoverable oil volumes of 76 million barrels. The oil density is between 41° and 43° API. The Piranema field is operated by Petrobras. CYLINDRICAL FPSO The most characteristic aspect of the development is the production system – a novel cylindrical FPSO. This cylindrical design provides improved motions, higher stability reserves and higher deck load capacity than conventional units. Called the Sevan Stabilised Platform (SSP) or more recently, the Sevan Piranema, it has been chartered to Petrobras for 11 years with an 11-year extension.
