Introduction As technology develops swiftly in 21st century，human being lives a digital and informational life. China has undergone great changes since 1978. The international status of china is also undergoing great changes. English, the most frequently used language in the world, is studied by more and more people. English, as one of the official languages, has come into every areas of our life. However, in the process of learning English, many students will lose interest in it because of teacher’s teaching method. English is a very practical subject, its teaching aim is to cultivate students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. To obtain this teaching goal, teacher should change the traditional method of language teaching centers on teachers. The teaching environment is closed and limited to a piece of chalk, a blackboard and a textbook. Under such kind of teaching system, the method of teaching often focuses on grammar and translation. It pays much attention to cultivate students’ reading skill, but neglect to cultivate their skills in other parts. Using computer in language teaching is a new method of language teaching. It is characterized by a combination of graphic, textual, audio and video functions. It’s superior to any other forms of language teaching. Foreign language teaching is different from any other subjects. It requires language learning environment. The application of computer in English teaching is a new method of English language teaching. With the aid of computer, teachers can teach more easily. The language skills can be drilled with the accomplished with the accomplishment of computer.
