WELCOME Dear colleagues and friends: Welcome you all to “International Symposium on Health Emergency Capacity Building”! Since 2003, Chinas public health emergency response capacity building has made remarkable progress, health emergency response capacity improved rapidly. To summarize and exchange the experiences and research results of the health emergency practice, further strengthen the theoretical study of health emergency management, to improve the professionalism and capacity of the health emergency personnel, International Symposium on Health Emergency Capacity Building will be held 11-12 December 2012 in Beijing. This conference will co-sponsored by: Harbin Medical University ，Health Development Research Center of the Ministry of Health(MOH) ，Capital Medical University of China, and assisted by Fudan University, Anhui Medical University and Heilongjiang provincial CDC. The International Symposium on Health Emergency Capacity Building brought together international experts from the United States, UK, Australia and other countries, officials of Ministry of Health Emergency Management Office, professionals of the national CDC, Beijing Municipal Health Bureau and provincial CDCs , professors from National Health Development Research Centre of MOH and as well as domestic experts and scholars from University and institutes ，which will not only build a bridge to further facilitate the communication among experts, health executives and decision makers, but will also provide important platform to explore effective strategies and solutions to address various public health emergency issues jointly.
