【A b stract】 O b jective To analyze the characteristics of nerve root cysts on CT andM RI and assess the d iagnosisval e of mi a-
ging. M e th ods Sixteen cases of nerve root cysts confirm ed by s rgery and pathology were retrospectively st d ied, M RI were pe-r
form ed on 12 of the 16 cases, CT scan 4 cases, sp inal cord radiography 6 cases and CT enhancement scan 6 cases. R e su lts Ten
cases in th is gro p w ere fo nd in sacr m, 2 cases in neck and thoracic spinal cord respectively and 1 case in thoracol mbar ex-
trad al cavities. The cystswere characterized by low signal on T W I and h igh signal on T W I, being in accord w ith CSF signal.

The thin eq al signal of the spinal nerve cord were fo nd inside the som e cysts. Conc lu sion The nerve root cysts have certain
characteristics on radio im aging and MRI ism ore help f l for its diagnosis than CT and spinal cord radiography.
