Wait—a wheelchair？Yes—this isn’t the latest James Bond movie.Instead，it is Johnny English Reborn，a movie which will come out in the UK in October.The hero，Johnny English，is played by actor Rowan Atkinson，who has achieved worldwide recognition for his performance as Mr Bean. The movie is a sequel(续集)to the box-office hit，Johnny English.This time，an international group of assassins(刺客)is planning to murder world leaders.The bumbling(笨拙的)secret agent takes up the mission to stop them. Laughter is something the British take very seriously.They count their humor(or，as they spell it，“humour”) among their greatest exports.It’s as important to British culture as afternoon tea or David Beckham.So director Oliver Parker didn’t want to try and get cheap laughs.“It is very important to keep the integrity(truthfulness)of a serious spy thriller as much as possible，”he said.“In my mind，I felt that if we could get the thriller right，then the comedy would work better.” But he admitted that combining a comedy with a thriller was not an easy job.“It was a very difficult thing.So much of Rowan’s comedy is the delight of knowing that there’s a banana skin that he can step on.But if you play that too often，then the banana skin loses its slipperiness(滑溜)，”Parker explained.
