Land use inform ation obtained from satellite re- mote sensing TM mi age in 2001w as used as main data source. An ecological risk index w as constructed based on the varieties of land use;and the system samp ling method w as used to m ake it a spatial variable. A fter samplings carried ou,t the sem ivariagram analysis and block kriging were conducted to gain themap of distribution of ecolog-i cal risk. The results indicate that the spatial distribution of ecological risk become more uneven in the working are- a, and wt o belt areasw ith h igh ecological risk are formed in this region. The two areasw ith high ecological risk are key areas for adopting ecological protection measures.
