Unit 5 Finding a job what kind of job do you want? Dialogue Model Zhang ping is a Chinese student studying computer science in Lancaster University. He talks to career adviser at his university. Adviser: I see that you are interested in science. Would you like to continue your study at the university or would you rather get a job? Zhang Ping: I’d rather get a job. I think. Adviser: Now, are you interested in any job that you can find, or would you rather find a job that has something to do with science? Zhang Ping: I’d prefer to find a job that has something to do with science. Adviser: are you sure you’re not interested in teaching? Zhang Ping: I think it would be better if I get a job, rather than studying further. Adviser: well, there are lots of possibilities. For example, you could work in a laboratory, or you could work in a chemical company. There are of course many interesting jobs in industry, or perhaps you would like to work in a hospital. What sort of job would you prefer? Zhang Ping: I think I’d prefer to work in a laboratory. Adviser: In that case I’ll arrange an interview for you with one or two laboratories. Zhang Ping: Thank you.
