According to the analysis on the construction re qu irem ents, certain technical parameters for the design of the pressure releasing slot blasting were obtained. M eanwh ile, an observation station of the pressu re releasing resu ltsw ith the pressure releasing slotswas set up. The results show ed that the application of the pressure releasing slot technology in the pressure bum ping area cou ld efficien tly mi prove the m aintenance conditions of the No8933 coal m in ing gatew ays and cou ld highly reduce the frequency of the pressure bum ping accidents occurred.
