In the control equations of the model, density variation was considered, and the algebraicrelationsfor the stress and theflux included buoyancy terms, sothe directional effects of buoyancy on turbulencewere auto matically accounted in the model. Because turbulent terms are calculated by algebraic stressflux model, the nonisotropic characteristics of turbulencewerereflected verywell. Inorderto verifythemodel, density stratified flow with both the vertical temperaturegradient andthe ver tical salinity gradient is simulated numerically. Thefeatures of stratification and nonisotropicturbulence are describedbythemodel. Thecom putational results agreedwellwith the experimental data.
