* * MY HOMETOWN Ankang (安康) a prefecture(辖区)-level city in southern Shaanxi Province, Peoples Republic of China Location of Ankang Ankang is located in the central part of china. On the south is Daba Mountain, and on the north are the Qinling Mountains, and the Hanjiang River runs across from west to east, thus constituting the wonderful natural landscape of a clip of a river between two mountains . Ankang County was set up in the first year of Taikang in Western Jin Dynasty (A.D.280); the name AnKang means having abundant harvest and happy forever, being peaceful and healthy. After the founding of the Peoples Republic of China (1949), the Ankang Office of the Shaanxi Province Peoples Government was set up in 1950, growing to become the Ankang Area Civic Administration in 1979. In 2001, Ankang Area became Ankang City with a city-level administration. 02 Natural scenery Nangong Mountain Nan Gong Mountain was called Bijia Mountain.
