新视野大学英语视听说(第二版)第二册UNIT3概要1
KRNET2000 What characteristics do you look for in the person you want to date? What do you think are the standards for looking for a girlfriend or a boyfriend? Tips: They should: share the same values have the same beliefs be honest/ physically attractive/ kind/ dependable/ considerate/ diligent/ sociable be well-off talk less/ more be less/ more emotional be less/ more romantic be less involved with others’ problems/ care more about people be more serious/ have more fun put job/ career first/ put family first be on time/ be more flexible with time Reference: a Girlfriend for me When I consider a boy to be my boyfriend, he must be, first of all, a nice guy. He should be kind, dependable and honest. He should also be a good listener, especially listen to what I’m talking about, of course. He should also put his career first, be ambitious, hardworking and sociable. And, he should be punctual. Just imagine how frustrating it would be if we went on a date and he kept me waiting in the freezing wind. Finally, physical traits and money are also important to me. It is unrealistic to say they play no role in choosing a boyfriend. But, I don’t care about what others think of his appearance so long as he is attractive to me. A. Reading: Please read the script of video clip 1 on the next page and get more information about story background. B. Role playing: Now practice reading the script of video clip 2 and video clip 3 on following pages. Then invite two volunteers to play the roles. Denise talks to her best friend Christine about the situation Christine: I always thought there was something fishy about Keith. He just didn’t seem sincere. Denise: Don’t say that, Christine. There has to be a reasonable explanation for what he was doing with that girl. Christine: Yeah? Like what? Denise: Like, maybe she’s his cousin or something. Or maybe
