教案个数: 执行日期: Book4 Unit One Advertising Period 1 Welcome to the Unit Teaching Aims: Guide Ss to talk about different advertisements, including commercial advertisements and three PSAs. Help Ss improve their speaking skills through practicing. Teaching Key Teaching Difficulties: Help students gain a better understanding of the role of ads and different purposes of the two types of ads. Help Ss improving their speaking skills. Teaching Procedures: Step One: Revision and lead-in Where do we see these ads? Are these good advertisements? Why? Step Two: Speaking SB Page 1 Read the instruction and encourage Ss to discuss each of the poster. Ss work in groups of four or six, asking each other: What image(s) can you se on Poster One / Two / Three …? What can you read on it? What does it try to tell us? Then encourage Ss to focus on the functions of the commercial advertisements and the public service advertisements. Ask Ss questions about each poster and provide them with useful information. Step three: Sharing information Organize Ss into groups of four or allow them to form their own groups. Ask them to discuss the three questions on Page 1. They should exchange their opinions and make sure that all of them have a chance to speak. Ask some groups to report their answers back to the class. Step four: consolidation Ss watch a Public advertisement for AIDS. Then answer the following questions: 1) Which kind of ads is it, commercial advertisement or Public Service Advertisement? 2) What is the main purpose of the advertisement? 3) Do you people will like it? Why? 4) Who will benefit from it? Step Five: Language Points advertise vt. 为……登广告、做宣传 vi. 登广告 advertisement= ad n. 广告 put an advertisement 登广告 advertise for … 登广告征聘…… e.g. The company is advertising for a new manager. 2) be aware of … 知道、明白、意识到…… be/seem aware that … 察觉、发觉、发现…… e.g. Every body is aware of the importance of protecting rare animals. e.g. B
