A constantmaxmi um sw itchingfrequency asynchronous modu lation control strategy is applied during starting and low speed periods of the EMUs motor because low torque ripples are requ ired during these periods. A t high speed, because lowsw itchingfrequency and low harmon ic component are required, a variable sw itchingfrequency synchronousmodulation control strategy is used w ith a 4pulse modu lation at m id h igh speed and a 2pulse modu lation at toph igh speed respectively. The effectiveness of the proposed strategiesw ere verified by comparing the smi u lation voltage w aveform sw ith the measured data of the EMUs motor.
