Grammar Ellipsis 省略： 为避免重复，使语言简练，句中的一些成分会被省略。省略的情况一般有以下几种： A. 状语从句中“主语+be动词”的省略 1). 状语从句的主语和主句主语相同，并且谓语动词是be动词时： When he was asked his opinions, he remained silent. Though he was young, he was wise. If she is invited to the party, she is sure to come. B. 省略作宾语的不定式短语，只保留to，但如果不定式to后是be或完成时态，则须保留be或have: C. not; so常用来替代从句。 so常用于替代肯定形式的从句， not常用来替代否定形式的从句。 常见的动词有：think、imagine、guess、say、hope、fear等。 这种用法常见的有：How so? Why so? D.两个并列句中，后一个分句常省略与前一分句中相同的部分。 E.对上文已经出现的语句的省略。 1).--I think Michael was the best pleyer ever. --Yes, he really was.(the best layer ever) 2). Catch me if you can.
