A b stract Background Corneo scleral rim incision ha s le ss imp acts on either the corneal ep ithelium and conjunctiva or
the corneal sen sation. Bu t the effects of th is op erative incision on the stab ility of tear film after op eration is unclear. O bjective
Purpo se of th is study was to exp lore the change s of tear film after phacoemu lsification and in traocu lar len s ( IOL ) imp lan tation via
corneo scleral rim incision. M ethods Sm all incision phacoemu lsification and IOL imp lan tation wa s p erform ed in 2 19 eye s of
128 p atients w ith age2related cataract from Ju ly 2006 to D ecem ber 2008. The surgery eyes were random ly divided in to
corneo scleral rim incision group ( 69 eyes of 42 ca ses) , corneal tran sp arency incision group ( 70 eye s of 45 ca se s) , scleral tunnel
