Mining Area Branch of Yangquan Public Security Bureau, Shanxi, Yangquan 045008, China) ABSTRACT: Usually, the nature of one case involving in death from shooting is difficult to define because of its many complications to cause dissension. Here reports such a case that was suspicious of homicide. The local police technicians tried their best to find out the case truth, beginning with the careful scene investigation, corpse autopsy, DNA STR profiling, conducting the physicochemical tests and analyzing the trace evidential materials. Finally, a conclusion of suicide was determined by the combination of discoveries from above pursuits with the field reconstruction through scouting the case details and recovering the case reality by validation. This case is herein exampled with purpose to offer assistance for colleagues to investigate the similar or same kind of case, explore the scene and ascertain the nature of case.
