It was found that the rate of masculinesymptom was 5 8 .4 6 % and the rate of possiblemiddle rate psychological problem was 1 0 . 9 4 %. The first three serious problems were compulsion,human sensitization and depression. The mental state of the only child of a family was obviously better than that of theone from a family with more than one child. While the mental state of the better-off student was better than that of the poor one. Students who were dissatisfied with their schools and majors were in different mental states comparedwith other students. Interpersonal relationship and study pressure were two factors mainly influenced the studentsp mental states. Key words : university students;mentality;health; psychology;SCL-9 0
