The number of eaves, the ength of stem and root , the fresh weight of shoot and root system were inhibited with the increase of sa inity. With the increase of sa inity, the surviva rate of seed ings decreased. The resu ts showed that ow sa inity ( 0 j ~ 10 j ) promoted the eaf area expansion of S. apetala seed ing, whi e high sa inity ( 15 j ~ 40 j ) inhibited it. Content of ch orophy decreased at ower sa t concentrat ion and increased at higher sa t concentration. S. apetala seed ings grew norma y at ow sa ine habitats when it was ower than 25 j .
