Key words: epoxy chloropropane production and application market 1. An overview of the Epoxychloropropane (ECH) is an important intermediate for the production of epoxy resin and synthetic glycerin. It is also an important raw material for producing water treatment agent and paper processing resin and elastomer. According to Tecnon OrbiChem, the global ECH consumption in 2001 was 840 kt, up from 920 ~ 940 kt in 2003. In 2003, the use of ECH was divided into: epoxy resin accounted for 75%, synthetic glycerin 10% ~ 15%, water treatment agent and paper processing resin and elastomer accounted for 10% ~ 15%. In 2003, the total production capacity of the global ECH device was 1.24mt/a, which was calculated based on the actual operating rate of 75%, and the output was about 930 kt in the same year.
